Color by Numbers

Art has become a big inspiration to me. Art can be interpreted many ways and if it is unfinished it can be taken many directions as well.

I am a portrait

no color fills my canvas

my palette is pale

come be the painter

fill me in

complete my bare silhouettes

be my Van Gogh

fill my eyes with starry nights

be my Da Vinci

fill my mind with mystery

be my Monet

make me something great

be my Picasso

make this feel surreal

take what you see

and divulge it unto me

take up the brush

and paint what you see

I am open to any constructive criticism. When it comes to my poetry I want to be the best I possibly can be while still maintaining the uniqueness that makes my poems mine.

This is both thought provoking and inspiring. You've written this in a way that it's not difficult to process, in my opinion. It's beautiful. If this came in a card as an inspiration or on a poster for a writing seminar, I would definitely be intrigued. I personally wouldn't change anything about the poem, but I can be a soft critic as well, haha. Kudos for the great work!

I really like this. It reminds me of when you first realize you've fallen in love, and you know that that person will make a really huge impact on you in some way or another and you cant really control that. I like the reference to the artists as well. It's quite a unique poem, and in a way romantic. I like it, well done.
