Twisted Roots

Twisted Roots

A Poem by Lucas Alton
"

A catchy little poem I wrote a while back while alone in the park. Even though it is so short I personally believe it speaks volumes on love and just how complex and difficult that topic can be.

"
the cobbled stones
the broken paths
the love we lack will never last

the twisted roots
the tangled tales
were supposed to make my heart avail

but to no one more than you I give
a gentler, kinder kiss

to no one more than you I give
the simplicity of my bliss

these broken paths
and twisted roots
can tell no greater tale

than that with which I hold within
and am trying to surveil
