Regeneration

Part of my creative writing class, what was the most exciting 30 seconds in our holiday.

I squealed in glee as I saw what was about to happen. I could see what was coming. He was about to regenerate. 

I furiously scrolled down Tumblr, glancing up often, to see everyone's reactions. The Doctor was going to regenerate. Capaldi was coming.

It was the Time of the Doctor, and I was curled up in a ball, an arm wrapped around my legs (my other hand was browsing Tumblr), watching. 

I was entranced. And I was crying. I was watching Matt Smith's final Doctor Who moments. Yet we were about to see the first of Caapaldi, which I couldn't wait for. I was betting that he would be fabulous.

I was grinning as the moment came, and it passed in a flash, as my sniffles stopped. Regen's take at least a minute, but this was as if he had sneezed, then changed.

He was Capaldi. The short moment was glorious. I squealed. Then fell off the couch.
