Our Very Own CircusA Poem by LowesyRun away with me, Say you’ll stay with me. Don’t look back, Don’t turn around. If you stop Your feet Will get stuck in the ground. It will pull you in, Quicker than quicksand. Keep on running Or you will never be found. Can we make it? Escape from this? Build our own circus? It’s going to be worth it. A place for us, A home for the different. Somewhere distant Where no one can hear us. It will be our own, Our very own home And we know It will never get old. This life was never meant for us, We are unique, Made of different stuff. We like to dance And we like to sing. We like to write And paint lots of beautiful things. They didn’t understand us, They couldn’t handle us, But I couldn’t miss Our final kiss, In our home, Our very own circus. Can we make it? Escape from this? Build our own circus? It’s going to be worth it. A place for us, A home for the different. Somewhere distant Where no one can hear us. It will be our own, Our very own home And we know It will never get old. We’re getting old, But we’re still in love. When I think back to that Picture painted above My heart still skips, It still pounds, But it was worth it I wouldn’t change it the second time around. © 2011 LowesyReviews
