If I'm Not Back Home TomorrowA Poem by LowesyI can’t help but drink, Feel the fire in my throat, I like the sensation, When I’m rocking my own boat, This is my addiction, This is my pressure point, I understand I do some crazy s**t, But it isn’t my fault. If I’m not back home by tomorrow, Go on ahead and leave, If I’m not back home by tomorrow, Find another place to live, I’m not saying I don’t love you, But it’s hard for me to give in, If I’m not back home by tomorrow, Don’t wait around for me. I know I don’t spend enough time with you, The kids are calling my name. To them, I’m a stranger too. I got fired last week again, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, But I’m afraid of being weak again, I don’t want to shame you. I know, I’m a failure, It’s not something I can change, I know, I’m a failure, And I don’t expect you to stay. Find a man, worth loving, Find a man worth caring for, Find a man worth loving, I don’t want to fail you anymore. If I’m not back home by tomorrow, Go on ahead and just leave, If I’m not back home by tomorrow, Find another place to live, I’m not saying I don’t love you, But it’s hard for me to give in, If I’m not back home by tomorrow, Don’t wait around for me. When I come home tomorrow, I expect you to be gone, I open my door, and flick the light switch on, And there you are, Waiting for me, I’m glad you waited Waited for me. © 2011 Lowesy |
