I Will Find a Way

I Will Find a Way

A Poem by Lowesy

I have done all that you ask of me
I have pleaded on my knees
Even though what you ask is wrong
The right, I'm torn between
And yet you grab your sharpened axe
And place my neck on a block
You swing your final command
And leave me here to rot

I can't keep up with the way you talk
I can't hear the way you speak
Your whispers are something I have fought
But in the end they make me weak

So yes you've proved once again
I was wrong and you were right
But some day I will have a friend
I won't be alone in the night
I will chase away your words
And chase away my thoughts
You burn my mouth so I cant talk
You break my knees so I cant walk
But I will find a way
Someone will speak for me
I'll find a way
Someone will carry me
So you can go away
Never come back

As I sit here in the darkness
Alone and terrified
My own little corner of the world
But not even here can I hide
Somewhere in the distance
I can hear your cooing voice
Knocking at my inner door
I slam my shoulder just like before
But once again you enter

So yes you've proved once again
I was wrong and you were right
But some day I will have a friend
I won't be alone in the night
I will chase away your words
And chase away my thoughts
You burn my mouth so I cant talk
You break my knees so I cant walk
But I will find a way
Someone will speak for me
I'll find a way
Someone will carry me
So you can go away
Never come back

The knockings getting louder
I'm close to the edge
The knife is on my wrist
There's a noose around my neck

The hinges are giving way
Until all thats left is his face
A strange resemblance of me

You burn my mouth so I cant talk
You break my knees so I cant walk
But I will find a way
Someone will speak for me
I'll find a way
Someone will comfort me
So you can go away
Never come back

I don't need your poison anymore

I love the repitition and the sense of determination until the end. Even though this may seem like a dark poem, with imagery such as 'sharpened axe' and 'poison' you still manage to convey a feeling of hope. A very moving poem.

Another great poem. The passion and suspense held me to the very end. I love the lyrical quality as speaks from the heart and brings the rhythm of blues into my mind revealing the song of the caged bird.

A very emotional touching piece of you. Well expressed, and written, Totally captivated how things, in life can go. This is real, and i felt all you wrote.
No, no poison anymore. Excellent.

if you read between the lines, this piece could be interpreted as a love poem gone wrong like milk left on the window sill.

The hinges are giving way
Until all thats left is his face
A strange resemblance of me

Thanks for posting and viva la
