JackA Poem by Lowesy‘Shh,’ said Jack, ‘the giant is coming’. As he sat there rocking, listening to the stomping Of the giant’s boots on the carpet floor. The darkness surrounded him, crowded him, bound him Leaving Jack hoping to be and feeling very small. For he was in hiding, hiding from that giant’s hiding, Leaving him hoping for something more. He didn’t mean to do it, didn’t mean to lose it, The giant’s golden goose, his treasure which caused his boots To come stomping across that carpet floor. Jack is now shaking, hoping someone will wake him From this nightmare from the night before. ‘Please " Please don’t find me’, Jack said so quietly, so quietly But this is not a folklore. You could say, that good young Jack got away, That that giant stayed at bay, That good young Jack was hidden forever more. Jack is good lad, he has never sought to be bad But is punished for only being born. His parents, they fail him. His school, they fail him. His country, they fail him. As he suffers forever, and ever more. © 2013 LowesyAuthor's Note
