Twilight Charm

Twilight Charm

A Poem by Daffodils

What a strange enchanting charm-the twilight
    As slowly it descends at even
On me casts that I forget the night
    And notice but the stars in heaven?

The world with all its care and pains
   Like transient visions fade from me,
these strives that seethe like stormy mains
   From out my breast to Lethe Flee

I see Utopia's brilliant skies;
   Where poet's cherished dreams come true,
I feel the breeze of Paradise
   And her sweet music-free from woe.
