Twist and Shout

Twist and Shout

A Poem by LovingJoy

You must love yourself for all you are.

That is a choice, not an order.

Until then you cannot love others,

until that time you will shun your own horror.

To see is to see,

to look is to know better.

Twist in your forged chains to be free?

Realise release " this life isn't forever.

We will never be free of the dirty shackles

cast hard by a morally corrupt, terrified few,

We'll never avoid the cynical fishwife cackles

No matter, just be proud of being marvellous you.

No matter, sweet love, whoever you are,

no matter, fine person, wherever you are,

The meek shall someday inherit the Earth

when we learn to let go of the fear and hurt.

My rhyme is discordant, little here flows,

but you are far more than words and woes,

if I'm willing to love you for all that you are,

it begs the kind question: Why is it you can't?
