Do You See

Do You See

A Poem by LovingJoy

More sly horses have bolted,

another pay-later party is over,

on hands and knees in the grass

vainly seeking a four-leaf clover.

You dance out of sync.

to a tune piped into your life,

you're fine on the brink

of a freebie with a price.

Running over hot coals

- but the strip never ends,

losing sight of your goals

soon all energy spent.

Dance madly to the wicked tune

openly mocking your innate grace,

the obvious made apparent soon,

some set hurdles to rig the race.

Okayyyy, thanks for the clarification, Chris. Your remarks are very true in this sense.

You didn't need the clarification... you hide well though.

Not necessarily so perhaps, but a witty remark all the same and appreciated.

This reminded me of the dreams that I tend to have.
Great poem. Thinking about the price that we all pay for what we live.
