The Perfect Love StoryA Poem by AmyAs I sit here, In the almost silence, He looks my way... And my heat does cartwheels. He turns And whispers A conversation with his friend. I can't make out What they're saying, But it must be Something amusing. He laughs And smiles a big white smile, His dirty blonde hair Just barely brushing The top of his Foggy blue eyes. Goosebumps Go up and down my arms, As he looks at the clock And I catch A mere glimpse of his face.
Time passes, The clock ticks away. I feel his eyes on me, And as I look up, He quickly looks away. Now I feel scared. What if, Like every other time, Like every other guy, I'm making him Something he's not? I'm overanalyzing everything, Like every girl does.
He puts his head down And I look at him, Just once more... But I can't stop looking. He doesn't seem Like every other guy. This doesn't feel Like every other time. There's something different... Or is it just me? © 2008 AmyAuthor's Note
