Wrote this for a girl who can't get over her past

Although you were destroyed emotionally from the past
What has made you now
A mess? which is incapable of rejuvenate and reshape?
It is a choice. Perhaps I don't see it your way. But I do respect your choice.

Do you know that?
You deserve to be treated right? Yes, you do deserve it.
A mess can't continue to be a mess.
It has to grow and be marvellous.

Time and remodelling will do the good.
We only live once. Only once on Earth.
What is important is NOW, not the past nor the future.
Let past be past, Cherish now and build a bright new path.

Do you know that?
You deserve to be treated right?
Yes! You do.
You deserve to be well taken care of, in a precious way.

Although none of any kind of relationship is perfect,
There is up and down in all matter,
Not everything we do bring us to the top at one shot,
There is still so many reason to look at the light at the end of the tunnel.

Do you know that?
You deserve to be treated right? Yes! You do.
And I hope I give you the reason and one of the so many reasons to be BRAVE.
Because you so deserve to be treated right.

lovely poem, and very true! i think it's important to understand that some people's lives are messes, but we have to encourage them to rise above it. as you said, it is a choice, how we feel about ourselves and what we do with ourselves. i hope that we all choose to make the right ones :)
