Damn Those Who Bind Us

Damn Those Who Bind Us

A Poem by Cynthia Yildirim

Political Statement

"

Damn those who bind us today

They are taking my precious liberties away

What right do they have

To make me want a revolt!!!

Damn you congress you sneaky folk

For your from the crooked oak

And for those in the state senate in Alabama

You screwed Singleman

Because he was a nice democrat

Who cared about the little man

Who wanted to improve our schools

Now he is doing 7years in jail

You created for him hell

Now Gov. Riley is greedy

Cutting back money for schools

Not caring about our kids

He's an idiot

The national congress ah you make me mad

Patriot Acts One & Two, stripped our rights

Now the police are taking advantage of us

Beating people down all over

Power always goes to their head

They are power freaks like you

(I will finish this later)

Author's Note

Cynthia Yildirim
It is a statement not a rhyme. In Alabama, the Republicans sought t convict former gov. don singleman of bribery, but it was false and now he is in jail for 7 years. The new governor Riley which they like has introduced a new budget that greatly reduces money to the schools. 60mins did a piece on Singleman recently which is available on youtube.com. I am also mad at the way that police officers are abusing their power so much more now and how Alabama keeps passing laws that go against it's residents.
