Jenny's Mother

Jenny's Mother

A Poem by Cynthia Yildirim
"

Ah, sadness does engulf me. :)

"

Jenny never saw her face.

For she was hidden amongst the lace

Every night she prayed aloud

“Oh Lord Come Take Me Now”

She was unhappy in her heart.

Her mother had broken it apart.

Jenny never cried at home,

only when she was alone.

Poor Jenny they would say.

She was not happy a single day.

Why did she receive this fate?

Only the Lord knows I say.

Jenny, Jenny don’t dismay my love

will lead you a new way.

Jenny, Jenny do not cry

for the Lord is by your side.

Jenny never saw her face

for she was hidden amongst the lace.
