Silly Little Girl

Silly Little Girl

A Poem by Megan Wylder

Silly little girl
With dreams of true love
Thinking such things could be real

Silly little girl
With heart shaped eyes
And rose colored glasses

Silly little girl
Dreaming of a fairy tale ending
Her head diluted with fantasy

Silly little girl
It's time to grow up
Time to realize theres no such thing
As everlasting love
Or fairy tale endings
Time to leave such things to dreaming
To the books
And to the movies

Silly little girl
Its time to wake up
And realize
There is no prince charming

very blunt isn't it? but still its true, i think that there is a certain age when girls should give up on the whole prince charming idea and face reality. i just think that you should add a little bit more to it and maybe give it some emotion. other than that it was a good write. :)

I remember when I used to want my 'Prince Charming'. Lol. This reminds me of the song 'Heart Shaped Glasses' by Marilyn Manson because of the line(s):

With heart shaped eyes
And rose colored glasses

and the movie Pan's Labyrinth because of the line(s):

Silly little girl
Dreaming of a fairy tale ending
Her head diluted with fantasy

I like most of those lines and I really enjoyed this read! :D
