Chapter 1 - A Fleeting Moment

As I passed though the door, the overpowering stench of smoke and alcohol mixed with greasy food filled my lungs.  The familiar smell was as welcoming as pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving.  The bright, flashing lights obstructed my vision as I quickly scanned the mob of dancers.  Where is she?  I check my watch, which willingly tells me that It's 10:15.  Great, I'm already late!  I wonder if she'll be mad at me...

I casually walk to the bar as the nerves in my stomach build.  I had a bad feeling about tonight, but I wouldn't dare show it on the outside.  I'm the cool, calm guy.  What can I say...I've got a reputation to keep.  "Hey G-Dragon, have you seen Bae Yumi?"  I had to yell just above a normal speaking tone, because of the blaring music.

"Oh that's why your wandering around here like a lost puppy,"  he scoffed.  G-Dragon wasn't only the bartender here at JYP's Night Club, but also my childhood friend.  And ever since we were kids he would constantly tease me.  Maybe it's our  closeness, but I've never called him Hyung.

"Come on man, it's our three month anniversary...I know I'm late, but didn't she at least come by before?"  I desperately asked.  What's wrong with me?  I always seem to let my guard down in front of G-Dragon.

"Oh yeah!  She said to give you this"  he responded my pulling out a folded up piece of pink paper and handing it to me.  My throat couldn't help but tighten.  Unable to say anything I nodded and took the note.  I read it carefully, though there wasn't much written.  It was true.  Just as I suspected.  How could she do this to me...today?

No...NO!  Stay cool.  They're all watching, G-Dragon is watching.  I choked down my fury with a nearby drink.  I crumpled the paper and threw it as far as I could.  The music somehow seemed louder, but more fuzzy, like an angry bee flying around inside my head.

"Aww...sit down.  I can't bare to see you like this,"  G-Dragon instructed.

I did as I was told, but I couldn't stop my hands from their violent shakes, nor could I catch my breath.  That was the first time I felt like I couldn't breath.  "Your not asking what's wrong..you read it, didn't you?"  I asked, my eyes piercing through his.  He took a step back, collected himself, then spoke again.

"It's not that bad being dumped~" he started, but I cut in.

"~How would you know?  No girl would dare dump you!"  I said through gritted teeth. G-Dragon was only a year older than me, but he seemed to be way beyond me in dating years.  Girls practically threw themselves at him.  I mean what's not to like?  He's that perfect "bad boy" bartender, college drop out, and to top it all off he has mad singing and dancing skills.  For once, I just didn't want his advice or sympathy.

He took the hint and stopped talking.  He brought me a drink of something I had never had before, but it sure was strong.  Just the smell was enough for me to know it was one of his very own signature drinks.  I drank it in one gulp, coughing at the burning sensation in my throat.  I struggled to take a deep breath, but my lungs refused to listen to me.

This was just not my night, or so I thought.  Just as I looked up from my chocking spell a beautiful girl appeared before my eyes.  She stood next to me and ordered two drinks.  As G-Dragon worked his charm on her I got a good long look.  She was really skinny, but curvy, and her scarlet lip stick matched her flawless, snow powdered skin.  Her light make-up accentuated her baby-face features such as her big, shinny eyes, and her small centered nose.  Her hair was in loose, thick braids, and I had never seen such smooth hair before.  I wanted to reach out and just run my figures though it.

And then she left.

I blinked and just like that she was scurrying away into the crowded side of the club.  "Who is that?"  I breathed, turning my widening eyes toward G-Dragon for his insights.

"I don't know.  She must be new...."  he stated casually.  Then putting his hands on the table he leaned towards me, "Don't think about it.  Your on the rebound~"

I don’t even know your name, girl
But I’m going to get you somehow
Just gotta let me know where u at
Cuz your man’s coming

I stood up, dusting my jacket off, and put on a grin from ear to ear.  Ignoring G-Dragons warning, I began to make my way towards the crowd.  I was invulnerably confident now, and I knew that nothing would stop me.  My mentality was set.  I have to find her.  I have to.
.
.
.
Sadly, my confidence was shaken at the sight of a man's arm around her as they danced.  I should have know a girl like her wouldn't be single.  Before anyone saw my disappointment I decided to leave.  I headed for the door, discouraged and oddly... exhausted.  The cool, October air swirled around me calmly.  Calm...the complete opposite off how I felt at this moment.  Just as I turned around to close the door, I collided with someone.

I reached out to steady the other person, but dropped my hands when I saw who it was.

"S-sorry,"  her voice was soft and gentle, and sweeter then candy, "I wasn't watching where I was going".

"No, no I'm at fault," Ah!  Why do I begin to sound so proper when I'm nervous, instead of keeping my cool image?

She closed the door behind her and we both just stood there looking at each other.  Now was my chance, I was even looking her straight in the eyes.  They sparkled like fireworks and I silently wished she would never blink.

When our eyes first met
You smiled a familiar smile
As if you know me
Making me stop in my tracks

Her alluring smile made me think things I'd rather not mention.  I smiled back apprehensively.  Could she notice how I felt?  I really wanted to speak, and for some reason she just looks like the kind of person who would listen.  But I couldn't.  I opened my mouth, but was unable to audibly express myself.  Thankfully, she made the first move.

"Hello, my name is Moon Geun Young.  You must be TaeYang.  G-Dragon told me you were a friend of his,"  I guess she wasn't as shy as she looked.  Then again, looks are deceiving.  Wait a minute!  G-Dragon said she was new, and that he didn't know her.  That little lair!  He tricked me again.

In a sudden rush I found my voice.  "Uhh...Yes.  Nice to meet you,"  I took her hand, which was so small I feared my hand would eat hers.  "I hope he didn't tell you anything else about me"  I flashed her one of my signature smirks and she returned with a toothy smile.  Our laughter went on as we began to talk about G-Dragon, and everything was going great.  I was being charming, and I'm pretty sure she was returning my signs.  It was only for a fleeting moment.

We both jumped at the sound of the creaky door opening.  "Henry,"  she exclaimed, taking a step away from me.  Her beautiful smile was gone in an instant, and all because of this guy.  But I remember how I felt at that moment.

"What do you think your doing out here?  Come inside, now!"  He roughly took her hand and opened the door with his other one.  For a drunk guy, he was pretty steady.  Who does he think he is?  I opened my mouth in protest, but my jaw let me down.  I'm afraid I won't see you again.

I look back to catch a glimpse of you.  "It was really nice to meet you!"  Geun Young called just before the door swung shut.  You are getting farther and farther away.

AHH!! I struck the side of the building as hard as I could with my fist.  That guy is bad news and I know it.  I saw the way he looked at her.  I heard the harsh way he spoke.  And like the little coward I am I just stood by and let him do it.  Why am I like this?  I begin to stagger away, the fury obstructing my vision.  But in my mind I am still  visioning her beautiful face, how small her hand felt in mine, and her gentle voice.  I can't let her slip away.  That's it!  I'll come back here and win her.  With my new found plan, I sneakily smiled and was on my way.

Day and night, high and low
I am always here searching for you.

Wow. My first fanfic of Big Bang...wow. That's all I can say. Taeyang is cool and all, but he never really appealed to me. G-dragon and TOP all the way. But this was a new perspective into Taeyang's life. I think you've gotten his character down pretty well. He really is that calm and cool one. I absolutelty loved how G-dragon was portayed in here. "He's that perfect "bad boy" bartender, college drop out, and to top it all off he has mad singing and dancing skills." I've always seen him as the playful one, but this really shone a mature light on him. Very nice.
Just watch out on how you use "your/you're" I found some places where "your" was supposed to be "you're" A good test is to say it to yourself "You are [sentence]" and see if it makes sense. Apart from that and some minor grammatical mistakes, thanks for giving me a new perspective on Big Bang (which reminds me to listen to them more XD). Great job and I look forward to reading the other chapters. Fighting!
