Ineffective

Ineffective

A Poem by Lucia
"

Pretend you are standing out of reach of what you want most. You ascend onto a dock.... Visualize it...Now read this poem.

"

I swoon at the vibrant colors.  Mustn't
go into the water, must get closer.  I
already am aware, that I will not reach my
destination.  Though I try in vain. A lost
cause.

The wood of the dock moans,
as I shift in place.  Rough between
my toes.  A splinter tears through my
soft flesh, a predator slowly consuming it's
prey.

Looking down, the sight of blood causes me
to violently tremble.  It is over.  An ongoing struggle
no more.  Tonight we will become one, and only
one will witness.  Struggling...useless.  My life...
futile.

Wrote this about a character on a TV show. It was a show I had never watched before and I don't recall it's title. Odd, isn't it?

Wow~ VERY powerful poem here! All of us, as human beings, can really relate to this. It's sad, but still the vivid detail and expressions you used were really good. The ending, while a litle hopeless, was very deep. It really strikes a cord within the human soul... kyaa great job!!!
