Deciding and FindingA Chapter by LovelyDeath"You know you should close the door when you try to blackmail someone." someone said from the doorway. *~*~* James was standing in the doorway, leaning on the door to be exact. His eyes were narrowed and he was staring at us, he unnarrowed his eyes and raised one eyebrow on his gorgeous face. "So? Who's winning?" He asked, nodding towards us. "I...Uhh...she...blackmail...How long have you been there?" Miley finally stuttered out as I just stood there with a frown on my face. She took a deep breath and stood up straighter; I really wanted to raise an eyebrow at her, but I'm pretty sure I don't know how to do that like James did. "Long enough." he replied, typical answer. It was always that, no exact time or anything; it was either 'Long enough' or it was 'just a moment'. "I was just joking." Miley said, laughing as if to prove her point. It was shaky though, so it messed up her whole act. "Yeah sure." I stated sarcastically under my breath. She's afraid. That's what I realized, Miley is afraid of James. The scars on his beautiful face gave him a reputation now that he didn't have back in high school. He was considered dangerous now; that was exactly what he wasn't. Except for when you do something that will force him to let his dangerous side come out. But James was loving and sweet. Funny and charming, yet protective and handsome. He was also a complete gentlemen when he wanted to be. So why was she afraid? That means..... "What?" Miley said, her loud voice pulling me out of my thoughts and making me lose whatever I was supposed to realize...again. "Get out." James said, his voice low and sounding dangerous as his eyes narrowed at her. Her eyes widened and she scurried out the door before glancing back at me with a heavy glare. "This isn't over yet." she hissed, before stomping away. The door slipped closed and we were alone. I don't know what I expected, but..... I took a step towards him and he stepped back, away from me. He was staring at the floor with an angry scowl on his face. I only analyzed one thing. He stepped away from me. I didn't expect it to sting, but it did and I flinched, my footsteps faultering slightly. He looked up then, noticing the look on my face. I don't know what look was on my face, but it must have hurt him because I saw pain in his eyes even though his face was emotionless. I moved forward and kissed him. He didn't respond for a moment; then he kissed me back as he wrapped his arms around my waist. Then the door pushed open and I groaned, why do people keep spoiling the moment? When the door opened, James pushed himself away from me and walked out the door, his hands in his pockets. He didn't even bother seeing who was at the door. It was Matt. *~*~* His face was one of shock when he looked at me; then it vanished and his face went blank. "I thought they were kidding." he said, taking a step towards me and wrapping his hands around my wrists. "Who?" I asked, trying to act like I had no idea what he was talking about even though I knew I was caught, red handed. "The guys, they said they saw you and some guy dancing in the middle of a parking lot." he said as though it was nothing while on the inside I was mentally cursing. "Yes." I said, nodding my head just slightly before lifting it up again. "Yes it's true or Yes you heard me?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. Obviously he couldn't raise only one like James could. Thinking about James got me caught up in my own little fantasies of him holding me and kissing me. I snapped out of it when Matt's grip tightened and he pulled me to him, placing a kiss on my lips. They were soft, but I felt nothing with them. No spark, no nothing at all. I felt as though I was kissing a doorknob, except door knobs aren't soft, they were hard. Not that I would know what it was like to kiss a door knob since I've ever actually kissed one, but still. I pushed him away, finally realizing what I should have a long time ago before I got interrupted. It means I wanted, no needed, James. I loved him, no I love him. I have to find him. I pulled the wedding band off my finger and gave it to Matt, before kissing his surprised cheek. "Bye Matt." I whispered, before grabbing my keys and running out the door. *~*~* I knocked on James' door for the fourth time. Still no answer, I was about to give up when the door slid open and his room mate looked at me with a tired expression. "James has already left. Your late." he said, rubbing his eyes and about to shut the door when I put my foot in the doorway so he couldn't close it. "What do you mean he left?" I said, trying to ignore the last thing he said in case I started to cry. I can't be too late, or well I could; I don't want to be late! "He left for the train station little over a half hour ago. Now please let me sleep!" He said, groaning at me. "One more question; which station?" "Uhh, the one on Broke Road and Seira Drive." he said, before pushing my foot out of the doorway and closing the door. I heard him yawn behind the door and I bet he rolled his eyes. I ran over to my car and jumped on it, only for the car to stall. "S**t!" I yelled out, hitting the steering wheel. I climbed out of the car and started walking, I pulled out my phone and checked the leave time for the next train, I knew where he was going already too. Two trains were leaving, one in fifteen and another in a half hour. I bet he was going on the fifteen one, but.... I'll have to check them both. *~*~* "James?" I called out, looking for him around the plat form as everybody else ignored me. I was tired, running was not a specialty of mine; I had tripped a lot running here and my outfit wasn't very good for running. I was wearing a white skirt with a black tanktop and a white jacket over the tanktop. Black flat bottom boots and then a white hat that had a black strap around it. It was very hard to run like this, not to mention holding on to my hat at the same time. I was at the one that leaves, well right now. "Excuse me, ma'am?" I asked, grabbing the lady who looked nicest. "Have you seen a man; he's tall with black hair?" I asked and she shook her head, a sad look on her face. "He has a scar down his cheek?" I asked, pointing to my cheek where it was at. She smiled at me and nodded, pointing to him standing over by the other train that leaved in about ten minutes. He was leaning against a pole, with headphones in his ears. "Thank you!" I said, smiling at her and she nodded, grinning at me. "Good luck, child." she said, even though I knew she had no idea what's so ever about what I was doing. I ran over to James and grabbed his arm just as he was to board the train. There was still ten minutes til it left, but I guess he wanted to sit on the train and space out. He stopped walking, but pulled his arm away from me. I grabbed it again and pulled out his ear phones. "James." I breathed out. "What are you doing here?" he said, trying to pull his arm away and make his voice sound cold, but it more or less came out breathless. "I came to find you. You were right, I should have broke up with Matt and instead I tried to keep both of you. I just didn't know what to do, I loved both of you and I couldn't decide. I understand if you hate me, but I love you and I don't want you to go thinking I didn't choose you when I did and-" he cut me off by kissing me. He put one hand on my cheek and another on my hip before pulling me to hip. I pulled my legs up against both sides of his legs and wrapped my arms around his neck as he put his arms right under my butt to hold me up so I didn't fall. A/N: There's going to be an epilogue and then we are done. Also the picture for the whole novel is what they looked like for the last scene. © 2010 LovelyDeath |
