A Love Lost

A Love Lost

A Poem by DoNt LoSe YoUrSeLf

I never told you to remove your fingers.

Not from that name I had always put on stickers.

I loved you more and more, you clearly couldn’t see.

The potential of what we could be.

To realize that even with a shoulder full of dollars

I still couldn’t make you love me.

I could see you were done and walked away.

So with that, I threw your heart into the grave.

What would you do, now with your heart gone?

Not much because I couldn’t write you a simple song.

As the words tore from my chest

I was no longer your best.

But please, read this and know

There was no emotion I could show.

With everything happened, what would you do?

There was no me, no more you.

Everything combined set the tone.

For the thoughtless emotion I could’ve shown.

For this was end,

To the letter I would send.

To you, my dearest love

To an angel now sent above.
