Jelly Beans

Jelly Beans

A Poem by DoNt LoSe YoUrSeLf

People are a lot like jelly beans.
Some are sour while others are sweet.
The different flavors would be the persons attitude.
The different colors and patterns could be the persons personality, since we're not all the same.
Some bland while others are outgoing.

If I were a jelly bean,
I would be a combination of every flavor.
I have an outgoing personality, so I would have a bright color and perhaps a pattern added.
Often I can have a bad attitude, so I would have a sour flavor included.

In the end, we're all different.
But still feel we all have potential to be a certain jelly bean.
As life continues, just be you and someday
You'll figure out your certain flavor and appearance.

Not sure if this is really a poem, but just some thoughts I got when I was eating jelly beans last night. But I'll admit, it's an interesting way to look at humanity.

Hmm... I'd probably be the same jelly bean as you. BUNK BEDS!!! Haha I would imagine myself as more a candy cane or cognac, like Fabian said. Anywsys, a very interesting way to look at humanity :)

I've never thought of myself as a jelly bean. An old bottle of Cognac or a Cuban cigar, maybe... but a jellybean...? I'm afraid not. I'm something more mature and relaxing and pleasant in small doses. I don't smoke Cuban cigars or drink cognac but if I were to be an inanimate object I think I'd most likely be along those lines; something deep, rich and heady that makes your brain swim and your heart sigh. I'm neither sour nor sweet but luxurious and soothing. I could be an old leather coat or a well worn pair of favorite jeans. But I don't think I'm a jelly bean. Of course I've never thought of myself as fitting into the human race either...I've always had the suspicicion aliens left me on my parent's doorstep. It was an interesting metaphor, nonetheless.

I am very impressed by the message of the piece.
Comparing jelly beans with human personality and attitude is a marvelous idea.
Congratulations!!!

Hahaha! I found this both powerful and humorous. Jelly beans are delicious! Yummy! I love the whole theme of the poem. There are so many flavors and colors of jelly beans. Your idea of the flavors being the person's attitude and the colors/patterns being the person's personality, is really unique and awesome! At first, this seemed like a poem but then the lines were too wordy to be considered a poem. I do agree with fireblossom, if you worked on it a little bit you'd be onto a masterpiece indeed. I wish that I would've came up with such an unique and out there idea of a poem. All of mine are the same. Either they're lovey dovey or break-up poems. Haha! Cheers to writing in a unique but amazing way! :)

Never stop writing! You have a gift that's been given from the one and only amazing God! :)

This is the beginning of a really good poem OR prose. You must choose :-)

I like your thinking here. This is a really good observation.

You are definitely on to something good. Keep working on this one.
