If I Die Tonight

If I Die Tonight

A Poem by Light
"

Letter to my former loved one.

"
Goodnight. I'm not going to promise to see you tomorrow
You know I'd never make a promise I couldn't follow
And know if by chance I don't make it home tonight
I still love you with all of my might
But at this point, my mind is broken, beyond repair
And with tears in my eyes all I can see is glare
So I'm sorry if I wreck my car
Or am left alive, only covered in scars
But maybe when my heart stops it's steady pace
My mind just might go to a better place

But who knows? Maybe I'll just see you in a few hours
And there is no need to fear it
But maybe I will go into the ground and left with some flowers
If I do, don't you dare join me. I don't need that guilt on my spirit.
