I Want To Know

I wonder what it feels like to be the one to walk away

I want to know what it feels like

To forget you were ever in my life

To have been away from all the mortal strife

And not feel anything when I look into your eyes

And I want to know what it feels like 

To have been the one to drift away from you

To have never chased what hurt me

And never known all the suffering you went through

And I want to know what it feels like

To never look back

To never find a need to count my flaws

And cry over all the things I lack

I just want to know what it's like

To not cry myself to sleep

Not pretend to myself that I am strong

But always know I am just weak

I don't know why I want to know

What it is like

To have never had you

Intrude on my life

I wish I didn't need to pretend I'm a hero

I wish I didn't need to pretend I am strong

But I'm too weak to not

This path is hell walking along
