Battle of the Instruments

Battle of the Instruments

A Poem by Amanda
"

I was just having fun.

"
Tweedal de and tweedal dum
Is what I heard all day long
It was the trumpet player who played
Tweedal de and tweeda dum

I came across a piccolo and played my favorite tune
And soon that trumpet player played higher then a balloon
I threw away my piccolo in need of something higher

I stumble across a clarinet and played my favorite tune
And when my tune was higher I stopped and listened hard
When I heard that trumpet plays I threw that clarinet away.

I saw something shiny and went to investigate
Soon I held an electric guitar and I played my favorite tune
I played and played and played some more
Until you couldn’t here that trumpet no more

As a musician, who plays many instruments, I really love this piece. As a writer, I liked it, too. It is a very fun poem to read.

I like the rhythm in this poem. Other than a few spelling errors, it seems perfect. I liked the story and the word choices you used. Well done.
