My favorite thing about this poem is that each line is in and of itself. It does not flow into the next line or lead to something else. It explains itself and ends so that the next line may begin. I don't know if you did this intentionally or not, but I really enjoy it.
And I enjoy how the only line that does flow into and lead to the next is the very last one. Ending a poem with an adequate and memorable change is important and I think that you successfully accomplished that here.
I only have ridden a horse once during my life and not nearly like this! Your poem brings me right into the exhilirating experience of riding such a glorious animal. I liked how you showed us that you become one with your steed And how you receive so much joy from it. Thank you for the request.

Well, I don`t have many thoughts, it is all the
feeling of riding through the sage, dozing in the
saddle with the old pacer rocking me to sleep.
Then, a wild herd comes over the hill, running
before a thunderstorm, black clouds at their back.
We fall in with the herd and just run...........
Noses in the air, the wind at their tale we run....
That`s what you remind me of and you do it so well.

Thoughts or feelings, I love reading both! Thanks for the review. :)
A good write. It might be a good idea to put the last line in the present I`m home, it reads better and fits the tenses, and I would either keep it all rhymed or avoid rhymes, at the moment it reads a bit uneasy. A great idea that needs a bit of work.
you know, when i read the last line i immediately realized that it wasn't the journey that was taking you home but, the feeling you get from riding a horse...i know this because when i moved to my current home i so loved this town that my heart spoke to my mind and said "you are finally home"....it is not so much where you go but where your heart is that you call home. excellent write!
