"...where people care and swallow their pride. Where deadly guns are never the remedy and the lives of children are secure, especially."
Our World Today
I think about the days that have come and gone And how so many have been victims of onslaught But you must admit We're a society brimmed withviolence A world succumbed to hate Don't you think it's just a little too late To shape it the way it ought to be?
Where people care And swallow their pride Where deadly guns areneverthe remedy And the lives of children are secure, especially Where people truly and ultimatelylove And do their best to not take others for granted
Sometimes I wonder if this foolish animosity Is what it will all come down to in the end?
Tragedies rule our world From The Jewish Holocaust To 9/11when the twin towers collapsed In past, the VT and Columbine killings And in recent times, the tragic Connecticut shootings
I wonder if there will be a day Where everyone loved and got along Because it just might be A little too late...
But I believe in a big thing called hope It may not change the world But it could change a person's heart
And I believe in a great thing calledlove I trust that it will someday out rule hate And transform the nation
I believe in those elements I society too. Those things are greater than hate and darkness. They can transcend the way we live and treat one mother. That is be wise those things promote unity and communication. They do not divide people or feed our egos.
I think there is still time, and the fact that I find these type of poems on the cafe give me hope. That shows that peace and love matters to people. So there is a chance for our society. It is never too late. Only she. We have sure fedex our profound d ability to create is it too late. Thank you for sharing this!

what the heaven you are...lol, "don't divide people" i do agree. This's really a good one, as i suggestion i wanna say that you should have to write more about it in a new tittle...in new way on "New world". I'm sayin' because i know you can write, if you'd write, i;d like to read first...
I believe that day is coming, but it won't get here until Jesus comes back. But I agree with you whole-heartedly in what you're saying. Being a gun lover myself, I must admit--guns work great to defend people from getting attacked, but when the shooting stops, they really don't solve very much; a bullet might stop an attacker dead in his tracks, but it cannot cure the pain and anger and sin within the attacker's heart--only Christ's love can do that. The problem we have, I think, is not so much violence or gun-related murders or media madness or politics--those are just symptoms of the real problems. The real issue is evil, and unless we learn to confront evil with love, we won't stop it.
I loved it, it's a special poem, collecting the voice and hope of many, believe me !
I believe the world should change, as well, but sadly I don't have any hope about it anymore, the powerful ones prefer things to keep being this way and all we do, in my opinion, is no more than beautiful speeches. Just one tip: don't use so many visual effects (underlining. erasing), actually, don't use any ! Your poem is so expressive, it doesn't need these things !
Great job, by the way !
powerful piece of writing. I saw something disturbing on tv news, they were interviewing someone, and the guy said "we love our children but we love our guns more"... that chilled me to the bones, because of the ignorance... and so much talking back and forth, but no actions... it makes me cry for humanity... the only thing worth pursuing is love... and even if it is too late for some, we have to be strong for those coming.

Dear one , a lot of things look like hate, but
in 911 the responsibles were religious zealots,
which is probably a form of insanity;
In the Conn shooting the responsible was a
maniac. I`m sure he hated no one, he simply
did not know right from wrong, or good from bad.
As for guns, good people don`t use them to comitt
crimes, so should we disarm good peop;e ? They are
the only protection we have.
We have a conflict of religion and the ancient law of
survival, where only the strongest survive and perpetuate
the race. '
That is just the bare tip of societies problems, but it is
the truth. We will continue to have problems, largely
because , as a race we are uneducated and intolerant.
Pray for us,
