Blackmail

A poem I wrote a while ago.

 This is so our friendship...

 

“I’ve gotta go…”

She tells me,

A look of sorrow in her eyes,

“Be safe…” I tell her,

Tears glazing mine

 

She has to do

Something she doesn’t want to do

Give something

She doesn’t want to give

 

To keep the ones

Who she loves

Safe from harm…

 

They hurt her…

Then leave her in the woods…

All alone…

 

Where she cries and tries to find

A razor,

A knife,

A piece of broken glass

So she can ease the pain…

 

She can’t keep going through this…

She can’t keep hurting…

Because one day…

She’s going to get tired of it…

And end her life…
