She Dances In The Moonlight

She Dances In The Moonlight

A Poem by Brian
"

Ever been envious of those with a myriad qualities of creative expression that seem to be boundless?

"
And sometimes the inspiration comes from the promise of forever...
"She Dances in the Moonlight"
She dances in the moonlight
Her form is ever graceful
As she is truly a poet
With her feet prancing
Across the hardwood
Always in motion
Never allowing a moment
To hold her in sway
Yet here I sit ever alone
No starlight to bless my stay
Only the weathered wood
Of a stiff park bench
And no promise of comfort
The only solace found within
Precious moments of solitude
And the hope of a new tomorrow
Guiding my fingertips
Along the way
Wishing that the sunlight
Might refuse to surface
And the shadows would remain
Where I can wrap myself
In the cloak of their darkness
Searching for the perfect night
That I might discover love!
Dancing alone with her craft
Amongst her stars
And our fading moonlight
Writing sonnets with her pirouettes
And stealing my heart
Every chance that she gets
When suddenly the shadows are sunken
As the sunlight dares come in
And her form, it vanishes
Back inside the pages
From whence she came

I fail to see why no one has responded to this! "Writing sonnets with her pirouettes"...it doesn't get any more poetic than that! Nice meeting you, Brian!

You really are a romantic writer Brian. I love anything that has to do with moon and moonlight, but this one definitely kept me entranced under the alluring metaphors and vivacious personification.
I loved the last two closing lines. Perfectly forlorn.
