Promise Me ForeverA Poem by BrianThis probably is as close a definition who am I as I will ever be able to answer in such a succinct and presentable way. :)And sometimes the inspiration comes from the promise of another day.. "Promise Me Forever" Promise me forever As I took away today My yesterdays still haunt me And the thought of tomorrow's Forced laughter and borrowed smiles That never seem to fade I shall fade away This love was not for ending Nor was the sky meant for gray Dark clouds formed above us And downcast they hover While one lurks amongst the brush Without a single word She does say Why is it I? What separates me from the others? What makes me so brave? It is like asking Sun, why do you rise each day? Explain to me your physics So I may understand the way You know simply it rises Each and every day Whether behind dark clouds Or pouring rain The Sun is there It remains Promise me forever As I steal away today My yesterdays do not want me And the hope of tomorrow's First laughter and rainbow smiles That shall never want fade Fade not any day This love was not for ending And with your promise Forever it shall stay © Brian Milici July 16, 2006 May you always find your smile.
