Silenda

Silenda

A Poem by Prayers and Proclamations
"

She's talking to me again

"
If I had a knife...
If I leaned a little farther...
If I filled up the bathtub with water...
If I stepped into the street...
If I took a whole bottle of ibuprofen...

Nobody would see the blood.
I would fall.
It would look like I just fell asleep.
That bus would hit me.
The end would be painless.

I can relate to this endlessly. As if you'd stolen my thoughts. Peace, friend.

This is also great! But the continuation (or beginning) of the Silenda character is both unclear and seemingly without point. If this character is made up then it just follows the classic removal of blame for an unsatisfactory life away from someone when it reality it can be quite thoroughly placed. If it is real, then writing rather contrived poetry about it needs either more work or a deep talk is required in order to no longer need to post about it on the internet.
