Storm

Storm

A Poem by Prayers and Proclamations

The rain dazzles my eyes and ears as it pitter-patters on the window pane

I hear the music of summer festivities

Wafting up from the living room below

Suddenly

A flash

A look out the window reveals a jagged line of white

Suspended in the air

Bearing down from the black clouds

I watch as the limp bolt draws a deep gash in the side of the climbing tree

The teardrops surrounding it sparkle and shimmer

Suddenly glad to be living in this crappy, two-story building
