Changes

Changes

A Poem by Prayers and Proclamations
"

This is actually a song, but they didn't have that option

"

I knew it that first day on the field

And I was ready to give up

Because you had your girlfriend

But then, change number one

I wanted you to ask

But you didn't

You told me not to wait

So I didn't

You told me there was nothing

So what am I feeling

You told me we were just friends

Now my head is reeling

And my heart isn't healing

There was a chance for the first time

I thought you were flirting with me

Then at the first dance

Second change, you were into me

I wanted you to ask

But you didn't

You told me not to wait

So I didn't

You told me there was nothing

So what am I feeling

You told me we were just friends

Now my head is reeling

And my heart isn't healing

I took it as encouragement

When I didn't want to wait

I took your advice

And I made the final change

I wanted you to ask

But you didn't

You told me not to wait

So I didn't

You told me there was nothing

So what am I feeling

You told me we were just friend

Now my head is reeling

And my heart isn't healing

I'd gotten the wrong message

Nothing for us, you said

There's still a spark when I see you

So I'll stand by what I said

And maybe somthing will change for the better
