Society's Puppets

Society's Puppets

A Poem by Kelsey
"

We're just actors in societies puppet show.

"
Fighting to the death
Pulling each other apart
Why are we doing this
Is that what society wants?
This is what humanity has come to?
This is a play in which
I don’t want a part
I’m not going to follow your line
Stop saying it is
Because everything’s not fine

Can’t you see what they’re doing?
They’re putting on a puppet show
And you’re their main star
They’re calling out for more
And you’re selling out like another w***e
Behind the scenes
They’re there
Pulling the strings
When are you going to cut free
And be the person you want to be?

Listen to me
Take my advice
But you can’t hear me
Because they have me
trapped behind glass
Like I’m on display
But really they just don’t want you
To hear what I have to say

This is so very true. You seem to believe in the same kinds of things I write about as well. Really good poem and a great message to get out there.

very nice. The oppression of society is keeping the average person from using that thing called imagination. If people didn't have "man's perfect image" people could be what they want and not have to worry about what others think. I like this poem.
