Behind Castle Bars

Behind Castle Bars

A Poem by Kelsey

No Prince Charming is coming

So don't waste your time waiting

Pick yourself off the floor

No one is coming to save you

Or rushing to your side after kicking down the door

that keeps you locked up

Away from the world

To never see the beauty

But you do this to yourself

You hold the key

But you're too afraid to take the first step

You don't think you're ready

don't want to leave the castle bars

Afraid the weight of the world will be too heavy

I know you don't want it to be this way

But you have to realise someday

Life isn't a fairytale

But don't give up

Don't let the nightmares prevail

You're still alive

Your life is fragile and frail

Any feed back helps. I can't decided weather or not I want to keep this poem as it is, or if I want to add to it, so let me know if you think it needs more or if it's good the way it is. Or let me know if it sucks the way it is and I should just completely scratch it. I just want honest opinions. :)
