Broken Teenager

Broken Teenager

A Poem by Louise Winter

She lay there; her heart had broke

It was quite a long while before she spoke.

In those eyes, I saw those tears

And out of her mouth, she spoke her fears.

She ran away, not long later

Once she admitted, she felt like a traitor.

And that innocent girl I thought I once knew

Her story had been false; everything untrue.

But I will not judge her

As it all stays a blur

She now wishes everything stayed just as it were.
