A Chapter by Louis McKraker
"

An older poem from 2007. Enjoy.

"

     I.

If only I had a brain,

Think of all that I could do.

I wouldn't have to wonder why?

And I could discern the false from the true.

     II.

If only I had the courage,

I could be the voice of our age.

I could write the world-renowned dirges.

I could shine in front of everyone from on the stage.

     III.

If only I had a heart,

Then I could love her too.

I could be bothered when my world fell apart.

But then look at the many things I'd be subject to.
