I Was Bitter Upon WakingA Chapter by Louis McKrakerI was bewildered upon waking from a dream; Brought back by a roll of thunder, From a dream that was apparently not mine to keep.
I was bitter upon waking, as I thought the dream Was to belong properly to the poet, under Which ever of reality's shrieks, he continued to seek.
I guess I was wrong. I know I've been wrong about these things before. It isn't new. But disheartening, all the same.
So I sat there quietly the night through, As with the loss of the dream, There wasn't much else to do. © 2019 Louis McKraker |
