There Was Darkness (even) In Heaven

     I.

There was darkness even in heaven--

How was there not;

When, even there, a shadow wrought

An army before the light?

     II.

There was light even in hell--

How was there not;

When, among those bid and those bought,

I steered away and out of sight?

     III.

There is peace even on earth--

How is there not;

When, even here, I found the thought

To describe the ironies of each plight?

This is gorgeous and genius poetry. There are a lot of interesting and seemingly contrary statements here, but upon clear observation they are not.......great stuff.
