The Soul May Live Countless Lives

The Soul May Live Countless Lives

A Chapter by Louis McKraker
"

(2012 Lincoln, Alabama)

"

    I.

The soul may live countless lives,

When the mind may live so fewer--

And the soul may also recognize

When the mind falsifies who you are.

    II.

The heart may beat countless times,

Pumping life into every single frame--

Rendering so little compromise,

When the mind does not feel the same.

    III.

Yet, the mind reserves a place and time,

With which heart and soul cannot compete--

As it is the effort of the mind

That renders all other efforts complete.

Very thought-provoking! I'm not sure I'm following all the tangled relationships between soul, mind, & heart . . . I'm not very philosophically-minded. This message might be too analytical for my simple way of seeing life, but I do appreciate your fine word-crafting & subtle rhymes (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
