The High Priestess

The High Priestess

A Poem by Laura Kate

Strings of wind play with her hair

A bright new path maintains her stare

Sharp stones scratch beneath bare feet

True destiny is hers to greet.

From despair she struggled and climbed

Walking away from troubled times

Towards a future of her own

Proud to think how much she’s grown

Stormy nights behind her now

this she claims, her faithful vow.

sometimes we have to just take off our shoes and let the ground do what it will to our bare skin.
We must be strong enough to weather the pain because once we have done that....we have only grown stronger....scratches, bruises and cuts notwithstanding.

The vow of a strong woman, body and spirit. This poem acknowledges reality, the suffering and hardships most face in life, sometimes alone. But, the optimism and strength conveyed here are enduring. The mind conquers what it chooses to conquer. A moving poem, Laura Kate.

I sense in these lines you are a fixer too. the hardest thing for a fixer is to walk away defeated it makes it all the more difficult when in the process of hope the fixer gets beaten and bruised to no visible gains! it is hard sometimes too to see that the fixer sometimes needs the attention they deserve but always give. but in the walk away and the healing of self creates a stronger comprise to your composition.

This is really good. Tight rhymes with a great flow and rhythm. I like the metaphor of a new beginning with the struggles of a hard climb ahead. Well done. CD

Walking back to happiness. This tells a story of struggling through the darkness to find light at the end of the tunnel. She should feel proud, this is well written.
