Surely you are not the only one playing such games (love how your poem ends with questioning). Your poem describes how I feel in so many areas of life (others will relate, too!) I'm bipolar & when I'm riding high, I fear my rage will seep in & ruin everything. With my heart smashed many times in a long life, distrust and fear seep in to spoil each new potential. Sylvia Plath was much like this poem...even in her happiest moments...those would so quickly be replaced by her putting herself down angrily...hate can replace love in an instant.
if we let it...it is an awful game...but somehow we have to find a way to avoid becoming involved in it.

I really appreciate your comments Jacob.
Thanks a million
