Pine Cone

How did it make it so far from its tree? 

As if it travelled to exactly the place 

it knew it would be found by me.

Fixed destinations. I know many will not believe in this. But nature has ways. How rain from mountains travel all the way to Pacific. Birds to their nests. And how can clouds be fixed on the same path year after year. Beautiful imagination Kate. The pine cone was made from atoms just to meet you maybe. So that's what it did.

I used to pick up the pine cones in my parents' yard in NC...so many...and i would ponder their lives...
and that sadness or happiness that might transpire when they left the trees on their own or dismissed by the tree.

That's so lovely. I think we're quite similar Jacob. Is it sad that they have fallen from their tree or is it a great freedom? The one who gets to go on an adventure...I was happy to see the pine cone open up when I got it home.
