but I truly believed it to be so

Only now that I’m ready
do I realise just how little I understood,
what it meant when you said

I feel sure that in those moments when you said you loved him you did. It was the moments between that gave you a problem. There is that old saying that says 'love is never having to say you are sirry', but I don't believe that. This little read comes across sincerely. Love can't be understood fully. Sometime we say it without meaning it and sometime we mean it but don't understand the feelings.
