your poem so makes me smile ... we get older and start to have time to consider all those split paths we encountered ... choosing one over the other ... sometimes with abandon ... sometimes with trepidation ... always a conscious choice that was ours and ours alone ... love this poem .. compact, precise, full of wisdom and ponderings ... right down my alley says i! ;)

Oprah Winfrey (sexually abused in her childhood) said: "he destroyed what I might have become" . . . and your poem speaks to me of the same thing (I was also sexually abused often as a kid). I still fight low self-esteem fifty years later. It's a curse that's hard to shake & your poem piques so many possibilities for all the ways people lose their way in life (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
