In the Wrong PlaceA Poem by Laura KateMy body lets me know when it’s in the wrong place, as if my mind wasn't paying enough attention. There’s an empty space which aches in my chest, the space where my heart should be. So often it lunges taking a leap of faith trying to make its escape, looking for an exit somewhere near my throat. It never quite makes it and so it rests, panting on the side of my collar bone, exasperated, begging me not to return to the place I have to be, so that it doesn't have to return to where it needs to me for now. © 2019 Laura KateReviews
