Weathering the StormA Poem by Laura Kate
I heard a storm is coming
and at this ordinarily alarming prospect of danger I felt entirely and utterly safe, because since knowing you I have felt precisely that - safe. When the storm comes, as I'm sure it will, we'll find shelter under the tree - the same tree we settled under by the canal, when we watched the leaves flicker black and white and smiled at the ducklings swimming by. - Our tree. Watching the dark, heavy clouds collide, listening to the deep rumbling of the skies, feeling the purest of raindrops quench our skin... I will stand in the heart of the storm blissfully with you, in the comfort of your skin and in the kindness of your heart, weathering the storm as one.
