How long?

How long?

A Poem by Laura Kate

They tell me that there is someone for everyone
but I'm beginning to think that it's not true

so long since I rested
my head on a shoulder,

so long since I reached for
the base of a neck,

so long since I welcomed
his weight on my breasts

- how long am I to wait
for you ?

Not all love stories have happy endings, nor do they arrive when we are searching for them. Most happen along when we least expect it...one day a smile will catch your eye...or yours his...and that will be the beginning.
Forcing yourself to love is not love.
This is a very good poem...full of longing and angst...I quite like it.

A good write, Laurakate

I felt the sigh in this one. That deep yearning to fill the gap between what we have to give and giving it. Sometimes though we make unwise decisions in this state of seeking so beware. Very relatable short piece.

A poignant little write. A word of advice that my own Dad gave me. If you go out looking for love you won't find it. Love will come upon you like a beautiful butterfly. I hope it comes soon.
