Bone DryA Poem by Laura KateShort proseHow can it be?
That the one person who swore your protection Who told you they would take you under their wings and love you And cherish you Became the person you were afraid of most
The person who scares you The person who you run from The person who knew how to hurt you And would do so, time and time again
The person who would rip the skin from you back And leave you bone dry
And then leave
Leave you to weep In the hollow of their space
Within which there is no comfort to be found And no-where to hide
Not once do they fail to remind you That it was all you own fault © 2019 Laura KateReviews
