As If I am Lowercase

As If I am Lowercase

A Poem by Lou Woo

"
they speak to me
as if in all lowercase
because it seems not that my opinions matter
i am small, they say, over and over

they surround me
as if i am in lowercase
because they're like those skyscrapers in new york city
i am but an ant, they say, over and over

but that doesn't matter, i don't care
i may be small, but my ego is big
and so is my smile
powerful enough to run the building

and i may be an ant
but you know what? you're underestimating me!
did you know ants can carry a hundred times their own weight?
i think that makes me rather powerful!

so no matter what you are
small or big
feel good about yourself
AND YOU TOO CAN BE BIG :)
