Unforseen Future: Scene TwoA Screenplay by Lou EvansContinuation of the first scene in the fifth season of Heroes. I don't own any rights. This is a spec script so it's different from fan fictionScene Two INT. TRAIN STATION-DAY SUPERIMPOSE: Micah Sanders Somewhere in Georgia MICAH sits in an old beat up seat at a train station. He wears a hat that’s slightly pulled over his face to hide it in shadow while he watches people casually move around minding their own business. Carefully, he sticks his hand into his pocket pulling it out. Nothing falls out. Not even lint. He raises to his feet walking over to a vending machine. When nobody is paying attention to him. He presses his hand against the machine. Money starts to fall out of the machine while he continues to hold his hand against the machine. Micah closes both of his eyes as the change falls out of the machine. MOLLY WALKER (O.S) That’s called stealing. Micah turns around ignoring the money to see MOLLY WALKER standing there. She smiles at him. MOLLY But I’m not going to tell anybody. MICAH Who are you? MOLLY You don’t remember me? MICAH No, I’m sorry. MOLLY Molly Walker. MICAH (hesitates) Molly! MOLLY Yay! She throws her arms into the air before hugging him. Quickly, she releases him before taking a step forward to pick up a few coins. Micah kneels down starting to help her. MOLLY What are you doing here? MICAH What about you? MOLLY I came to find you and I know that’s not why you’re here. MICAH Where are you going? MOLLY New York City. MICAH What’s there? MOLLY It’s not what. It’s who. Mohinder is there. I used to live with him and Matt Parkman. MICAH Alright. I’ll go with you. They finish picking up all the change. Molly grabs Micah’s hand leading him towards the counter where they buy tickets. CUT TO: CLAIRE INT. DORM Claire sits alone on her bed watching her hand bleed before her fingers close over the palm of her hand. Gretchen enters, she walks into the room sneaking in a bottle of wine. She stops lifting it up while laughing. GRETCHEN Why don’t we hang around here tonight and do some- thing crazy? Or lame? CLAIRE (smiles) You just don’t want me to go outside. Too many people asking me what it’s like to be a mutant. GRETCHEN Actually (she sits down beside Claire) I don’t want to go out because I get jealous. Every time somebody looks at you, I know what they’re thinking. CLAIRE Oh really? I didn’t realize you could read minds. So? What do they think when they see me? GRETCHEN Well. They instantly think about how incredible and how beautiful you are. Then they think that you must have a great personality. But of course, that’s only after they think about kissing you. I don’t like it when people think that way. CLAIRE I like it when people think that way. I consider their thoughts compliments. GRETCHEN And you should. But Claire, I don’t like to share, Claire. CLAIRE Oh my God. GRETCHEN You’re mad. CLAIRE (laughs) No, you rhymed. Share. Claire. GRETCHEN So? How does my idea sound? CLAIRE Excellent. She grabs the wine from her by the neck of the bottle popping it open. Claire takes a quick swig before handing it off to Gretchen. CLAIRE We should play Apples to Apples. GRETCHEN It’s a great plan other than the fact that I don’t have the game nor do you. And we don’t really know any- body here to see if they do. CLAIRE Oh yeah. GRETCHEN (hesitates) What about 20 Questions? CLAIRE Alright. GRETCHEN And listen to good music. CLAIRE Sounds good to me. GRETCHEN I don’t have good music to listen to. CLAIRE Oh we can’t stay here anymore. GRETCHEN Why? CLAIRE I really want to listen to cool music. GRETCHEN Too bad. Alright then, time for round one of twenty questions. CLAIRE Aaaaah ok. Hold on, I need to think of something. In B.G. somebody knocks on their door. GRETCHEN I bet it’s another journalist. We have yet to meet an Iowan. CLAIRE We should have a map of all the places these Journalists and reporters who come here. GRETCHEN I want it to be the FBI. CLAIRE (stands up and walks toward the door) Why so they can run experiments on me? GRETCHEN No. So you can be a secret agent. CLAIRE Huh. That could be interesting, I guess. Claire smiles at Gretchen before opening up the door. She turns around to see Tracy standing there. CLAIRE Tracy. Tracy enters closing the door behind her. TRACY We need to talk about what happened back at the carnival. CLAIRE Did my dad send you? TRACY No. I need to know, to understand for myself. Please tell me. CLAIRE I don’t know… (she glances at Gretchen) We were busy studying. TRACY With a bottle of wine? GRETCHEN Claire, it’s fine. I-I’ll just go to the library. I just hope you’re here when I’m back. Gretchen exits. Claire turns to face Tracy. CUT TO: SYLAR INT. WAITTING ROOM (HOSPITAL) Sylar sits by the entrance watching people leave and enter. He looks extremely bored by all of this. NURSE (O.S) Sir! Sir, I’m going to have to ask you to leave. Sir. (pauses) Sir! MAN (O.S) I need to get back. Stop. I need to… Sylar turns around to face all of the commotion. The NURSE is a small woman while the MAN is tall and too strong for his own good. He looks as if he is a weight lifter who does not consider his surroundings. NURSE Sir, you have to leave. You’re not allowed to be here not by the hospital rules. By the law. MAN No, I need to get back there. (he shoves the nurse out of his way) My wife is back there. The nurse does everything she can to stop him from walking, she attempts to push him backwards. NURSE She has a restraining order against you! Sylar stands up stalking toward them. He stops in front of the man. SYLAR Hi. MAN Who are you supposed to be? SYLAR A hero? Damaged goods looking for a new home. MAN I don’t have time for this. He shoves the nurse out of the way before he launches himself forward. But Sylar lifts a single hand. The man stops moving, his muscles tense up as he struggles to escape the strange hold on him. A chair flies across the floor underneath the man. He falls back into the seat where he’s frozen staring at Sylar. All Sylar does is stand there smirking at the man. MAN Is this the part where you kill me? SYLAR What’s that supposed to mean? MAN I know who you are. CUT TO: MOLLY AND MICAH INT. TRAIN Molly and Micah sit beside each other. Micah has a seat by the window. He watches the scenes outside blend together. MOLLY What’s your favorite color? MICAH Huh? MOLLY I thought we should talk. What’s your favorite color? MICAH Uh I don’t know. Maybe green. (pauses) What exactly is it…? MOLLY Nothing special, I think of a person and I can find them on a map. It’s how I found you. It helps me escape some people. Like the Boogieman. MICAH Aren’t you a little too old to believe in such stories? MOLLY He’s the man who killed my parents. MICAH (whispers) MOLLY Did the Boogieman eat their brains, too? MICAH No. MOLLY You can come live with me and Mohinder. MICAH What are you trying to escape? Molly looks over at him but doesn’t say anything before she looks off into the aisle leaving Micah in silence. He looks out the window watching the scenery melt away into a blur. CUT TO: PETER EXT. PARKING LOT-TWILIGHT Peter trudges through the hospital parking lot. He’s about to walk inside when MOHINDER walks toward him. MOHINDER Peter! Peter Petrelli! PETER Mohinder, what are you doing here? Funny not running into you in a cab. MOHINDER We need to talk. PETER Can it wait a minute? Somebody has been waiting for me for a few hours. MOHINDER It’s important. Actually. It’s urgent. PETER Give me a minute, whatever you have to say to me needs to be said to (pauses) uh Gabriel. MOHINDER Gabriel? Who’s Gabriel? PETER (sarcastic) An excellent old friend of mine. Peter continues toward the hospital with Mohinder following him. They enter the building. INT. HOSPITAL Peter stops scanning all the faces of the people in the waiting area. Sylar is not there. MOHINDER Who’s this Gabriel? Peter pushes on scanning the area. He’s about to turn down a hallway that’s restricted only for those who work in the hospital. SYLAR (O.S) Excuse me, sir, but your friend is unauthorized to follow you. Peter and Mohinder turn around to see Sylar standing there wearing a security guard uniform. He smirks at them. MOHINDER Sylar! SYLAR (points to name tag) No. Gabriel. They said I could go by Sylar because it might confuse people with that whole serial killer never being caught thing. Who knew? I would share the name with such a monster. PETER Why are you wearing that? SYLAR Because I have to. PETER According to who and what? SYLAR The rules for working here. PETER Since when? SYLAR Since always. PETER How long have you worked here? Since when? SYLAR An hour and twenty-eight minutes ago. They said they could use a man like me on the force. MOHINDER You’re a murderer. I should hand you over to the cops. SYLAR Well that’s not very nice. PETER I’m afraid; I can’t let you do that, Mohinder. CUT TO: NOAH AND LAUREN INT. CAFÉ Noah watches somebody take away his cup of coffee and Lauren’s even though she is gone. Soon she returns sitting down. NOAH What’s taking her so long? LAUREN Maybe Claire has a lot to say. NOAH She didn’t say much to me. LAUREN You’re her father. NOAH But still… CUT TO: CLAIRE AND TRACY INT. DORM ROOM Tracy sits across the room on Gretchen’s bed while Claire stays on her’s. TRACY I don’t believe you. Well I do, it’s just that… CLAIRE I know. TRACY We’ve faced a lot worse. CLAIRE I feel like the worst is yet to come. TRACY I’m glad that you can’t see the future. CLAIRE Let’s hope I’m wrong. TRACY Can you repeat what happened? CLAIRE For the third time? TRACY Please. CLAIRE After all the cameras left. I was about to leave with my dad when I was abducted by these men. They wanted me to enlist and be some sort of soldier. I don’t know. I don’t remember much. TRACY Do you think they’ll come back? CLAIRE No. There’s others with far more impressive powers out there than me. CUT TO: GRETCHEN Gretchen sits alone at a table eating a bag of chips while looking at a book. Violet stalks across the room towards her. VIOLET Is your name Gretchen? GRETCHEN (looks up) Yes. VIOLET You know Claire Bennet, right? GRETCHEN Yeah. She’s my room mate. VIOLET Perfect.
