Ribbon Dancer Dreams

Ribbon Dancer Dreams

A Poem by Caitlyn Murphy
"

Written after Angel, but before Heaven, this is a sort of poem/song I wrote while inspired by feelings I had for someone a few years ago. Despite it having been written about a previous lover, it makes me think most of my current one.

"

Flash of light, lightning strikes.

Rain beats down, heartbeat echoes.

Burning kisses, fiery breath of life.

Ceaseless embrace, a death-grip between us.

Nothing can separate us now.

Not even death threatens the tie that binds.

A love that lasts till six feet down.

Neither man nor God can rip asunder.

Ribbon dancer dreams

Belong to none but us.

Lightning dances in the sky

Ribbons of color flashing down.

A halo of light and heat

Surround earth-bound lovers.

Souls reflected in each other’s eyes.

This is truth.

Two as one, one soul in two,

Locked in endless battle for possession.

Foolish mortals! Possession is ours!

Him to me and me to him,

The circle of truth fables only tell.

Clouds seize sky, sky collapses.

Snow falls like angel feathers.

It’s cold; we make our own heat.

Ribbon dancer dreams

Belong to none but us.

Lightning dances in the sky

Ribbons of color flashing down.

A halo of light and heat

Surround earth-bound lovers.

Souls reflected in each other’s eyes.

This is truth

Warmth renews, spring gives birth,

Melts frozen ground to thaw.

Wrapped in love, undying truth,

Only to jump forth again in sunlight.

Here we are, none can part us now.

Stand by me in this flickering light

We are the path to follow.

We are the flashes of lightning.

Ribbon dancer dreams

Belong to none but us.

Lightning dances in the sky

Ribbons of color flashing down.

A halo of light and heat

Surround earth-bound lovers.

Souls reflected in each other’s eyes.

This is truth.
